YOU & ME Yoga Distance Learning Programmes 

 

This modular training package is highly sophisticated training programme for teaching yoga to people with special needs of all ages and abilities. It is available for yoga teachers, therapists/teachers and parents with two years yoga practice, or a similar discipline.

Open training courses and distance learning programmes are now available with optional certification. This means you can select your training materials to suit your requirements as and when required; and do the coursework if you wish to become qualified in the YOU & ME Yoga system.

The distance learning programmes:

• The certificated training programme consists of 3 Levels with at least one month gap between each Level to allow for study and personal practice with guided learning. Your continued personal development will involve self-assessment and keeping a reflective journal. In addition, competence of teaching practice is to be demonstrated by three case studies.

* Guided Learning: A Learning Guide for each Level directs and advises you through the course reading materials and activities. It tells you which bits to read. Asks you questions about what you have learnt and how you are progressing. It also guides you through your teaching practice with three clients with different abilities and a case-study for each one. Basically, it will help you spilt your study into short, easy to read and apply lessons.

• Level 1 involves 20 hours guided distance learning for module 1: Study of the introductory materials and module 2: Personal practice of the basic techniques. At least 4 weeks is to be allowed for study and personal practice before moving on to Level 2.

• Level 2 offers optional two days training for module 3: Assessment and Looseners, and module 4: Relaxation. Level 2 involves 20 hours guided distance learning and 50 hours teaching practice for case study.

• Level 3 offers optional two day training for module 5: Postures and module 6: Breathing. Level 3 involves 20 hours guided distance learning and 50 hours teaching practice to complete case study.

Coursework for each Level is to be sent to us by arrangement as and when ready. Each assessment costs £20, unless paid in advance with course fee.
